What is Phishing?

Phishing is a type of attack that is used to trick users into providing their personal information such as login credentials or credit card details. Phishing attacks are typically carried out through the use of email or instant messaging, but can also be carried out through the use of social media or other online platforms.

The attacker will typically create a message that appears to be from a legitimate source, such as a bank or online retailer, and will ask the user to provide their personal information. The attacker may also try to direct the user to a website that looks similar to the legitimate site, but is actually a fake site created by the attacker.

Phishing attacks can be very effective, and can result in the theft of personal information or financial losses. It is important to be aware of the signs of a phishing attack, and to never provide your personal information to an unknown source.
