What is An IP address?

An IP address is a unique number that is assigned to devices on the internet. It is like a street address for your home.




IP addresses are used to identify and locate devices on a network. They are typically written as four sets of numbers separated by periods, such as 172.16.1.123


An IP address can be assigned to a device or computer that connects to the internet, or it can be assigned by your internet service provider (ISP) when you sign up for an account.

A MAC address is a unique number that is assigned to devices on the network. It is like a serial number for your car.


A MAC address identifies your device and helps you connect to devices on your network.

It is typically written as 12 random groups of numbers and letters, such as 0012-2345-6789 .
